We mail out postcards via first-class mail from the state of Colorado in the United States. Currently, postcards will be placed into envelopes and mailed, preserving the quality of the prints and minimizing postal scanning errors.

Currently, we are limiting kids registration to the causes listed in our Causes and Shop page: kids with chronic or terminal illnesses, kids with physical disabilities, and kids with Autism.

Delivery will depend on the postal system (holidays, slowdowns, delays) and the distance traveled. All cards (domestically in the United States) and internationally will be sent via First Class mail so we hope and expect cards to arrive within 1-3 business days domestically and 7-21 days internationally. As our global audience expands, we have system in place to expand our printing/shipping overseas to shorten mail time.

In short, yes. We know that kids are struggling with many types of issues that impact their quality of life, confidence, and performance for social and economic gain. As our donations increase, we will increase our funds/causes to match the demand.

Only in really special, unusual circumstances will we be able to offer a refund. As a non-profit that pays fees on all funds collected, we pride ourselves on running efficiently with low overhead and on getting cards out quickly to recipients in need of a smile. Stopping to haggle over refunds would only slow us down and add to our overhead. If you are concerned about your donation, feel free to contact us, call us, or maybe it’s best to pass this time.

We are launching in January 2021 and we expect there may be a few delays until we match donors with recipients to manage card flow. Until then, The Darby Foundation plans to donate and sustain funds to get cards rolling quickly. A kid in need shouldn’t have to wait. If for some reason, you haven’t seen a card within 14 days (United States) or 24 days (internationally), please contact us immediately so we can prioritize your child in the next batch.
